Abstract

A “Chapbook” of “New Medieval Lyrics” (371–82) offers eight short poems in medieval styles, written by recent poets. One of them, “What the Eagle Fan Says,” by the late Carter Revard, concerns a Native American fan made of eagle’s feathers and used in a ritual dance in Arizona. After notes, references, and a list of contributors, a well-built index rounds out the volume.
