Abstract

The purpose of this note is to speak out against the way the two fundamental theorems of integral calculus are presented in a standard elementary calculus course. The note proposes an alternative approach which allows the students to easily grasp the link between differentiation and integration and helps them to calculate the values of many integrals early in the course.
