Abstract

Purpose: The concern with prolonged sitting has been consistent over several decades. Such excessive sitting may provoke adaptive muscle shortening of hip flexors, which has been linked to anterior tilting of the pelvis and increase of lumbar lordosis resulting in over stressed lumber spine. Physical activity on the other hand has been shown to maintain soft tissue mobility. Therefore, this study will explore the association between prolonged sitting, physical activity and hip flexor muscle length.
