Abstract

Competitive programmers learn algorithms and data structures that belong to university computer science curricula. In this paper we go through the “Algorithms and Complexity” knowledge area in the ACM/IEEE curriculum guidelines and determine which of the topics can be learned through competitive programming. After that, we discuss in detail some topics that are different in competitive programming and university courses.
