Abstract
In a period of less than 25 years the image of our profession has been transformed from one of relatively obscure respectability to one of prominent status. Exciting research developments are constantly high-lighted in the public press, and the impact of rapid progress in insect control is continually related to exciting developments in world health, improved food quality, and increased production.
