Abstract
The Spring issue of 2015, opened with an editorial highlighting the role of The Tocqueville Review/La Revue Tocqueville in confronting our current crisis of democray. I suggested that part of this engagement included pursuit of a critical democratic studies. This proposal has solicited some interest and it seemed appropriate to begin to outline what such an approach might entail. This editorial, was presented at the Center for Critical Democracy Studies at the American University of Paris in December 2015.
