Abstract

The problem of inductive inference or the problem of passing from knowledge of the observed to prediction of the non-observed, can be viewed from two different standpoints. One is a philosophical standpoint (quid iuris?), while the other is, broadly speaking, the standpoint of natural science (quid facti?).
