Abstract

Authorship should convey appropriate credit and establish appropriate responsibility for work done and published.1For many years,JAMAhas asked all authors to sign an authorship responsibility statement certifying that they have met the following criteria: I have participated sufficiently in the conception and design of this work and the analysis of the data (when applicable) as well as the writing of the manuscript, to take public responsibility for it.
