Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has raised questions about professional liability risks for nurses tasked with caring for large numbers of severely ill patients while also challenged by resource shortages. This article will explore some key liability issues associated with the pandemic, including immunity, documentation, crisis standards of care, delegation and assignment, scope of practice, floating, travel nursing, telehealth, and misinformation and social media.
