Abstract

What follows is a revised version of a talk held in Edinburgh, Scotland at the Weber/Simmel antagonisms conference, organized by the Max Weber group of the British Sociological Association (10–11 December, 2015). On that occasion a new network for graduate and early-career Max Weber researchers was launched, the Young Weber Scholars. It has been propelled in this initial phase by Victor Strazzeri (São Paulo/Brazil — Doctoral candidate at the FU Berlin) along with Dr. Edith Hanke (Munich) and Dr. Claudius Härpfer (Frankfurt a.M.), in addition to receiving the support of a number of scholars worldwide, all of whom have assisted in the initial search for potential network members.
