Abstract
Spin and polarization data provide information which can be of use in understanding hadronic and heavy ion collisions. In this paper the principal features of available data on hyperon polarization in pp interactions are presented, along with a discussion of currently available models for pp and ion–ion collisions. Some restrictions on polarization are discussed, and the interest of polarization studies for spins greater than 1/2 is discussed.
