Abstract

The first joint meeting of the Korean Mathematical Society and the American Mathematical Society was held in Seoul, Korea from December 16 to 20, 2009. We organized a special session and posted the main theme “Creativity, Giftedness and Talent Development in Mathematics” for this meeting to share recent research results and perspectives on creativity and giftedness from the two countries. Three presentations from the United States and nine from Korea were invited for the meeting. Different settings, goals, trials, results, and implications for creativity development and gifted education from the two countries were actively discussed in the meeting. We first briefly summarize the papers presented at the meeting and then provide an overview of this book.KeywordsJoint MeetingGifted StudentMathematical CreativityTalent DevelopmentTalented StudentThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
