Abstract
Abstract Heparins from whale mucosa have been extracted, purified, and characterized. The analytical differences between whale and bovine heparins are described. In addition, the effects of different biological standards and length of storage of blood on the potency of whale heparins as assayed by the BP and USP methods are described.
