Abstract

The article covers the process of integration of creative legacy of the contemporary Western European composers into Ukrainian art space by the example of the work of Italian composer S. Sciarrino. The specificity of the representation of S. Sciarrino’s works in the art space of Ukraine since 1998 till 2019 has been analyzed. Ukrainian festival movement is a kind of laboratory, where assimilation of the recent European music occurs, as it has been shown in the study.Contemporary music festivals serve as means of intercultural communication and create the conditions for close interaction between the Ukrainian and European art space. This provides Ukrainian musicians a chance to master the current European trends of composing to create large-scale monographic projects representing contemporary European music at a new level.
