Abstract

The plaintiff filed a lawsuit against Molloy College, among others, due to injuries he allegedly sustained in an intercollegiate soccer match while a student‐athlete at the school. According to the plaintiff, he sustained a concussion during the first 10 minutes of the match when the soccer ball struck him in the head. Moreover, the plaintiff claimed the school's coaches and trainers allowed him to continue playing until he was replaced by another player in the final minutes of the match. The plaintiff argued he endured increased risk of injury when he was left in the match after suffering his head injury, which he claimed aggravated his injuries beyond the initial concussion.
