Abstract

The Sulige Gas Field is the largest tight gas field in China, which has the production capacity of 23 billion square meters in 2013. The gas field enters a stable production phase and the gas wells numbers exceed 10,000. Due to the tight reservoir and strong heterogeneity, the daily gas production is low and drop fast in early period. The low production wells increase year by year, bringing big challenge to fine gas well management and gas field stable production. In order to management each well scientifically and fully, by combination of reservoir geology, production history, process technology, et al., the paper bases on systematic analysis of the gas wells produced for more than 10 years, firstly proposes the life cycle management concept of gas wells and divides the entire life cycle of gas wells into three phases: early, middle and late. On the basis of reservoir geological research, making reasonable deployment of well locations in early phase, improving the proportion of type I and II wells. By combination of early production data, making well classification and reasonable capacity. In order to extend the continuous production time of gas wells, the middle phase uses geology data and production history to appraise production index for wells and block, such as dynamic reserve, decline rate, et al. Optimizing the opening system in the late stage, by combination of economy appraisal, choosing suitable drainage and gas recovery measures for different types of gas wells, in order to increase the final cumulative gas production.By analyzing the characteristics of gas well production in different periods, the focus of attention in different periods are clarified and corresponding technical countermeasures are proposed. The life cycle management concept and countermeasures effectively guide Sulige gas field well position deployment, scientific production rate, production index evaluation and production measures optimization, which show significant application on site and provide reference for similar tight sandstone gas field production and management.KeywordsSulige Gas FieldLife-cycle systemGas well managementTechnical countermeasures
