Abstract

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 8th IEEE International Conference on Ultra-Wideband (ICUWB 2008), which is being held in Hannover - the City of Trade Fairs and Royal Gardens. The ICUWB is the world’s largest and most comprehensive technical conference focused on UWB technology and its applications. The conference will feature over 30 lecture and poster sessions with in total more than 160 technical presentations. The conference venue is the Welfenschloss, the President's building of Leibniz Universitat Hannover (LUH). Hannover, City like a is known for its green and is the capital of the federal state of Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen), in Germany. With a population of more than 500.000, the city is a major center of northern Germany, known for hosting annual commercial expositions such as the Hannover Fair and the CeBIT. One of the most famous sights are the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen: The Conference Banquet will take place in the Galery Building of the Great Garden, which belongs to the most beautiful baroque gardens in Europe and it is the only one in Germany in its original state. Moreover, an Oktoberfest evening will be held in the conference tent at the garden area of the Welfenschloss. The technical program is ably co-chaired by Drs.
