Abstract

Uncovered reservoirs are susceptible to contamination from many sources. One way to prevent contamination is to construct a roof for the reservoir. The concept of a floating roof is discussed. Such a floating cover is designed to prohibit algae, dirt and debris from entering the water, and it will also eliminate the problem of dead air space between the roof and water as may be found with conventional reservoir roof designs.
