Abstract
A weighted block adaptive channel estimation (WBA-CE) for a space-time block-coded (STBC) single-carrier transmission with a cyclic-prefix is proposed. In the WBA-CE, the STBC matrix-wise block for the past decision output is first formulated in a receiver. Using this formulated block and a weighted a posteriori error vector-based least-square (LS) criterion, the coefficient correction terms of the WBA-CE are then computed. Finally, the performance of the WBA-CE according to a block size is evaluated in a time-varying typical urban channel.
