Weekly On-Treatment Assessment of Genito-Urinary Symptoms Using a Modification of the AUA Symptom Index Worksheet for Patients Receiving Radiation for Prostate Cancer

Abstract

Many men with prostate cancer receive external beam radiation therapy as treatment for their disease. During therapy, patients generally experience a change in symptoms relating to genito-urinary function. Objective: The goal of the study is to look at how patients' symptoms changed from week to week during a course of therapy, and during follow up evaluation after completion of therapy using a modification of the AUA Symptom Index Worksheet (MAUAW) and Urology QOL Index (GUQOL) assessing symptoms over the week prior to evaluations on treatment and follow up.
