Abstract

Abstract ‘Lady Bell’ seedlings were transplanted on 1 Jun at the University of Connecticut, Plant Science Research Farm in Storrs. Plots consisted of 10 plants, 1.5 ft apart, and were separated by an untreated plant on each end. An untreated guard row separated each block. Rows were spaced four ft apart. Three treatments were replicated four times in a randomized complete block design. Treatments consisted of an unsprayed control and applications of Ambush and MVP on 27 Aug and 3 and 9 Sep. Triton B-1956 Spreader Sticker (4 ounces per acre rate) was applied with the MVP and Ambush. Plots were sprayed from the top and sides with a CO2 backpack sprayer at 50 psi with 40 gallons of water per acre. All fruit over one inch in diameter were picked and discarded on 27 Aug. Fruit from all 10 plants per plot were harvested, counted, weighed and dissected to inspect for ECB larvae on 10 and 17 Sep.
