Abstract
Galin's method is used to derive equations that relate the basic parameters of the problem on wedging an orthotropic space by a rigid rectangular wedge. To eliminate the stress singularity at the wedging crack tips, a Leonov–Panasyuk–Dugdale prefracture zone is assumed to exist at the crack front. The equations are derived using the COD criterion
