Abstract

In a recent article by Dale (1978) an evaluation of the accuracy of the Philips treatment planning system (TPS) teletherapy program was described. Although the general conclusion was favourable, Dale remarks “the TPS wedged isodose curves are not in quite the same agreement with our plotted curves as was found to be the case with non-wedged fields”. We think our program deserves better, than this, and feel that the judgement of wedged fields would have been more positive if isodose curves from the wedge section instead of the compensator section in the program had been used in the comparison.
