Abstract
The use of self-help remedies in pregnancy is widespread and evidence suggests that it may well be on the increase as women are actively encouraged to take more responsibility for their health and information becomes more widely available on the web. There is an inherent danger that non-pharmaceutical remedies may be taken without due care or appreciation of their potential impact on pregnancy and labour.
