Abstract
Patient UK was first launched in 1997 by Patient Information Publications (PiP), starting as a directory of UK websites providing information on health,disease and related issues.However, in December 2002,Patient UK was relaunched as a joint venture between PiP and Egton Medical Information Systems (EMIS).For the relaunch Patient UK was extensively revised and more content was added. The homepage is crammed full of options to help retrieve the information required. It is divided into sections such as ‘Information for Patients’, ‘Care & Support’, ‘Professional Reference’, ‘Products & Services’, ‘Health News/Features’, and ‘Events/Hot Topics’. It also has a search area on the top left hand corner.
