Abstract

Considering educational theory of interactive teaching as guidance, making use of the advantages of LAN and the Internet, and utilizing many kinds of software - all these features contribute to the design and development of the interactive multimedia technology learning platform. This platform focuses on the teaching courseware of multimedia technology and uses online multimedia website as its carrier. There are three parts in the learning platform: the courseware of multimedia technology, the extension of multimedia technology and the online communication system. The web pages are made by Dreamweaver and active sever pages (ASP). The teaching courseware is finished by Authorware. The graphs, pictures and animation demonstration are processed by Photoshop and Flash programming technology. The database is operated by ASP technology. The platform fully embodies the educational model of student as main-body and teacher playing leading function, and it complies with the modern educational ideas of constructing the studying atmosphere of student fully participated and actively self-studying. TEACHING The web-based multimedia aided teaching course is a kind of computer software. It is guided by advanced educational theories, designed according to teaching objectives. The course web-based can reflect the teaching strategy and teaching content. It organizes teaching content into teaching information by means of human association, and then expresses the teaching information through the media of text, graph, video, image and sound. Under this new kind of teaching environment, the multi-media information displaying provides various external stimulus. The non-linear information organization structure of hypermedia associative offers various methods for exploring knowledge. The friendly graph interactive interface provides excellent participation environment for the students. All these features contribute to motivating the students to learn. Web-based education not only let the students have accesses to teachings delivered in the class, but also let them have easier accesses to library, laboratory, communication and discussions between students and teachers. It is a new type of teaching methods with all the features of flexibility, initiative, creativity and interaction. Nowadays, with the emerging of various web servers, multimedia teaching courseware can be published onto web servers. Learners can search and make use of the information they want on the Internet and campus network. Under campus network environment, web-based multi-media teaching can achieve the interactive teaching effect of having pictures and text together and having sound and images together. What's more, it can fully utilize and share teaching resources, effectively implement personality education, realize more communication between teaching and learning, aid the traditional teaching with a virtual studying community which is characterized with interaction and intercommunion. Web-based multi-media teaching can also build excellent self-studying environment, and stimulate students' learning potential. The students' initiative, learning enthusiasm, and creativity are fully stimulated to help students to have a better performance in the studying (1).
