Abstract
Geospatial Data provided by different organizations may have various geospatial Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS), which usually need to be converted into the same CRS for integrated analysis and display. Geospatial coordinate transformation functions are now commonly available in most GIS software. However, the transformation function in these software systems can only work in its proprietary environment. This paper presents the approach to make coordinate transformation functions in the different legacy GIS software Web accessible and interoperable. The OGC WPS standard is adopted for specifying the interface and protocol of services. The results demonstrate that a WPS client can access the coordinate transformation function provided by different software vendors in an interoperable way.
