Abstract

The article presents a comparison of the features and capabilities of online information resources Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus. WoS is a part of the Web of Knowledge product of Thomson ISI while Scopus was created from records taken from Elsevier databases. Web of Science has over :000 titles with special focus on sciences. Scopus covers more than 1:000 journals including books, conference proceedings and patents. The online databases of Scopus feature faceted indexing.
