Abstract

Today’s, the need of land resource information is prerequisite for agricultural development especially for land use planning. The existence web-based information system is an integral part of IoT technology can then be implemented to assist spatial planning process for agriculture development. This study was conducted to develop spatial information for land use planning process. Technology of geographical information system (GIS) was applied in this study to develop and manage database system. Land evaluation consisted of land capability evaluation (LCE) and land suitability evaluation (LSE) was used in methodology to determine arable lands based on their capability and suitability including land allocation for commodity group as agriculture system for food crops and estate crops. The result showed that food crops development areas are mainly located along the rivers (113,841 hectares). Meanwhile, for estate crops, they occupy 79.17% of total arable lands (432,632 hectares). The resulting database format and land evaluation integrated into web-based environment can then be used for delivering information purposes in accordance with location geographically. Therefore, it can be directly accessed anytime and anywhere by stakeholders located at concerning areas for planning process while at the same time, they can also provide the feedback for updating data.
