Abstract

In today's supply chain, B2B integration plays an integral part to the success in enabling collaboration. Information is exchanged between partners, and business processes are integrated to enable seamless and real-time dynamic B2B interactions and communication. One of the key drivers, the World Wide Web, has fueled the growth in dynamic B2B integration. In recent years, new software design patterns and business models are observed on the Web which is commonly referred to as Web 2.0. Although Web 2.0 is being applied in social applications, it could prove valuable to B2B integration, especially B2B interactions. In this paper, Web 2.0 concepts and technologies applicable to B2B integration (rich Internet application, software-as-a-service, collective intelligence and mashups) are first introduced. The fit between dynamic B2B integration and Web 2.0 is discussed. Potential applications for Web 2.0 concepts and technologies are also proposed.
