Abstract

'Weather shock ... one of the world's top weather experts says it's getting colder and colder and colder' was the reaction of one newspaper to a talk on the climate of the geological past given at the British Association annual meeting in Leicester recently by Professor H H Lamb, first Director of the new Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia. Professor Lamb may have been a little surprised at this report.
