Abstract

The Norwegian Crop Research Institute runs a network of 52 automatic meteorological stations. The construction of a revised system for collecting meteorological data from the automatic stations and connecting the data to site-specific information and biological information is outlined. The system for collection, validation and dissemination of information forms the backbone of the Norwegian Agricultural Meteorological Service. This system is geared towards the needs of agricultural research and extension service as well as the needs of farmers.
