Abstract

Lack of reliable data on the wear resistance of functionally graded coatings limits their application. This paper presents data obtained in erosive wear experiment on coatings containing various contents of CaO-stabilized zirconia and NiAlMo-bond coat. The paper also presents data on the erosion and abrasion resistances of coatings made of nickel- and cobalt-based alloys applied by plasma-transferred arc method. Results show that cobalt can be partly replaced in hardfacings by nickel and it is justified to build hardfacing through successive deposition of layers containing various contents of Ni- and Co-based alloys.
