Abstract
Three kinds of heavy dump truck tyre, 21.00-35-36/40PR, 27.00-49-48PR and 33.00-51-58PR, were tested to investigate the correlations between the wear rate, M v (mm/SMH) of the tyre, the surface roughness S (m 2/c/m) of the terrain, the contact pressure p (kPa), the air pressure q (kPa) and the tyre tread width B W(cm). As a result, the wear rate of off-road tyres could be expressed as ▪ To reduce the wear rate, a wider tyre should be used at 686 kPa on smoother terrain.
