Abstract

Adhesive wear characteristics of titanium carbide reinforced cast iron composites have been investigated. Adhesive wear of composites depends both on the amount of titanium and graphite present. The coefficient of friction values of cast iron composites are more than those of spheroidal graphitic iron. However, the wear rates of spheroidal graphitic iron are more than those of cast iron composites tested under identical loads.
