Abstract

The Al6061 substrate is used as the substrate material due its vast applications in the field of automobile and aeronautics. The Ni composite coating with Al2O3 nano particles has shown significant improvement in reducing specific wear rate. This also helps in the rise of pin temperature which is resulted from during wear under dry conditions. The response surface methodology (RSM) is used to design the experiments for the study of different wear parameters. Wear behaviour and rise in pin temperature for different 20 numbers of combinations of wear parameters is found out. The specific wear rate and rise in pin temperature are greatly influenced by the normal load applied on the samples.
