Abstract

The sliding wear and frictional behavior of Ni metal matrix composite coatings have been studied by using a reciprocating motion wear test rig. The effect of the heat treatment on structure and wear behavior is investigated. An attempt is made to elucidate the role of the interface between the particles and the matrix. Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) have been used to characterize the worn surfaces.
