Abstract

It has been previously shown that y-splitting reduces the activity of the muscle in the direction of the effect by affecting the torque. With the hypothesis that such an effect may also exist in the lateral rectus weakening procedure, it was thought that Y splitting might be more effective than standard recession surgery in this muscle. In this study, we evaluated LR recession both by conventional and y splitting technique, and compere their results.
