Abstract

An isolated 1D NiII chain containing single end-to-end azide bridges has been constructed (see figure). The non-centrosymmetric character of the three-atom single-bridge leads to a weak ferromagnetic behavior. Surprisingly, it shows a strong frequency dependence of AC susceptibility and magnetic hysteresis loops even at 10 K.
