Abstract
This article details selected platforms and includes advice on what to have in a professional profile. It will touch on a handful of profile products as representatives of a particular profile class, including social, business, and identification profiles, altmetrics, and data storage platforms. Profiles have been created for testing and evaluation when they are free; some tools were not examined when an institutional subscription was not available. Blogs and blogging and image-based platforms are not considered.
