Abstract

The “WB n ” algebras of Fateev and Luk'yanov are shown to be related to classical hamiltonian systems based on the Lie superalgebras B(0, n). This result is used to show that these algebras are the symmetry algebras of B(0, n) Toda field theories. The quantisation of these classical Poisson-bracket algebras, and their relation to the “WB n ” algebras is discussed.
