Abstract

The cost of electric energy in the production of hydrocarbons in oil and gas companies on average reaches 35 % of the total cost. Traditionally, increasing the energy efficiency of the technological process of hydrocarbon production can be achieved by improving power supply schemes and improving their energy parameters. Recently, there have been innovative methods for increasing energy efficiency, based on the use of digital technologies and allowing for operational management of equipment operation in oil and gas production. One of the ways to increase the energy efficiency of producing wells is to use a decision support system. Recommendations are issued based on calculations made using the digital twin of the electric submersible pump unit. The digital twin contains a model of well elements and deeppumping equipment, algorithms for adaptation to field measurement data, and algorithms for predicting the operation of the well and equipment. Simulation of the operation mode of the electric submersible pump unit performed based on data received from measuring units and sensors. The purpose of this work is to assess the potential for energy-saving effect due to the use of a digital twin of electric submersible pump units. The implementation of the concept of energy-saving potential is proposed.
