Abstract

The problem of motion of a two-layer fluid of finite depth subjected to pressure applied to its surface in the presence of a semiinfinite plate is considered in a linear formulation. Expressions governing the form of the originating surface and internal waves are obtained. Results are presented of a numerical computation of the elevation of the free surface and the interface caused by the application of the pressure.
