Abstract

The purpose of this research was to address the pyroelectric waves in the presence of the rotation effects. A set of homogeneous equations in displacements, electric potential and temperature are derived within the rotatory coordinate system by considering the Coriolis and centrifugal accelerations that present sizable influence upon the wave characteristics, namely, the velocity and attenuation profiles. The performed plane example shows that the temperature wave has remarkable dependence on the rotation as well as the attenuation angle and relaxation time. Likewise, the elastic waves like quasi-longitudinal and quasi-transverse waves show an obvious association with the rotation effects, which is more evident at the large angular velocity.
