Abstract

A novel method for image quality measurement on color matrix display using wavelet stimuli is described. Experimental results on contrast and brightness perception are given for a color LCD (liquid crystal display) matrix in the 1-8 cycles/degree range. The preliminary experiments show a frequency dependence of the contrast sensitivity curve similar to results with linear grating only at high spatial frequencies (>or=2 cycles/degree); results follow Weber's law at low frequencies ( >
