Abstract

Summary form only given, as follows. Some features of the application of wavelet analysis to nonstationary signals (DS-CDMA, nonstationary acoustic signals etc.) are considered. Its advantages and disadvantages in processing when wide-band noise (jamming) is present are shown. Comparison is made with the short time Fourier transform (STFT) applied to local segments of the signal. The discussed examples treat quasi-seismic signals recorded when bombing training is carried out by the Air Force. Some typical situations are considered: dive-bombing, ascent, blasting signals of standard loads etc.
