Abstract

Magnetic Storms are the earthpsilas magnetic field changes caused by solar activities, and can produce geomagnetically induced currents (GIC) in power systems, pipelines and other technological conductor systems on the ground. GIC have a great influence on the safety of these facilities of these technological conductor systems. In the paper using the geomagnetic data and GIC data from measuring sites on the power systems, the authors firstly denoise the GIC data with Wavelet Transform to obtain accurate GIC signal, and then analyze and compare the correlation of geomagnetic data and GIC data, finally, the authors estimate the geomagnetic storm indicators closely related to GIC in power system. The results are of great significance for the analysis of the impart of magnetic storms and the warming or prediction of the magnetic storms.
