Abstract

We report an experimental observation of wavelength tuning and bound states of solitons in the same fiber laser. Through adopting the Mach-Zehnder interferometer as an intra-cavity tunable filter, continuously wavelength-tunable operation from 1553.0 nm to 1565.0 nm is achieved. Additionally with modest polarization manipulation, bound states of solitons with switchable wavelengths and different pulse separations are also observed.
