Abstract

We propose a novel reconfigurable AWG-STAR (physical star topology network with arrayed-waveguide grating router) that employs two kinds of cyclic-frequency arrayed-waveguide gratings whose repetition channel numbers are coprime. We demonstrate that all the wavelength paths can be assigned independently with excellent transmission characteristics.
