Abstract

A simple wavelength monitoring technique based on the transparency detection of low-cost laser diodes and very simple circuitry is demonstrated. The wavelength sensor can be operated at either fixed bias or in a sweeping mode. Wavelength monitoring using the proposed approach has been demonstrated to have sub-angstrom resolution and good stability.
